Syrah 2022
The 2022 Syrah is a contrast in style when compared to the previous vintages of Syrah. More beauty than beast, this vintage shows more of the Pinot like characteristics of Syrah when it is grown in sandy, higher PH soils.
Tasting Notes
An intriguing nose of violets, red fruits, and desert sage. The palate is medium in density and is feels light on its feet with lofted acidity. Flavours of ripe cherry, strawberry and pepper crusted deli meats lead to a finish of textural fine tannins.
Food Pairing
Rich meat dishes, such as braised lamb shoulder, accompanied by roasted Fall vegetables.
Terroir
Grapes hail from the Lakeside Vineyard on the Osoyoos East Bench. Sandy, higher PH soils.
Winemaking
De-stemmed, whole berry cold soak, After 5 days, 50% of the lignified stems were added back. Ambient yeast fermentation.
Aging
Aged for 24 months on gross lees with no bâtonnage.
