Pinot Noir 'Artist' Willamette Valley 2024

Lighter in style but with exceptional density of fruit, it shows cranberry, tart cherry, and rhubarb, alongside herbal spice and an earthy minerality. It’s bright, suave, and moreish; truly a Pinot for Pinot Noir lovers.

91points

This is an elegant replacement pinot noir, a collaboration between the Naramata-based Roche family and longtime friends who grow grapes in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The colour is medium-pale, with darker threads of blue/black fruit, subtle oak spice, and light, silky tannins. The tannins are refined, the palate silky, favouring elegance over power. The finish is lively and super Oregon savoury, with enough uniqueness to merit a place in the Artist Release. Food pairings include game birds with sage stuffing or Morel mushroom ravioli. The price is a delight.

Terroir

In a year when the Okanagan Valley’s vineyards were decimated by cold, our friends Russell and Delphine offered grapes from their prestigious Dundee Hills estate in Oregon. Dylan and Russell’s mutual respect began while studying winemaking in Burgundy 20 years ago. Joyfully, our friendship continues today.
